Far from being an overnight stop on your family vacation, where a hotel stay is a mere hurdle in your final destination, The Ace hotel in Palm Springs IS the ultimate get-away. I’ve been a fan of the hotel ever since it opened in 2009, designed by LA based design firm Commune. Too bad I wasn’t blogging back then.
The hotel is the epitome of the SoCal ultra laid back, hip, and generation-X vibe. The macramé adorned lobby, rows of lazily swinging hammocks, sun-soaked rooms with white linen sheets, and a sensibly retro restaurant all speak the same language of a beach-borne community with a decidedly urban twist.
